Betting on Hampshire v Somerset T20 semi finals day

The Friends Life T20 competition reaches its climax on Saturday with finals day having arrived. Of the two semis on offer this is by far the hardest to predict from a betting point of view and many neutrals could have been forgiven for hoping that this would have been the final itself.

Looking at the betting, the bookmakers tend to agree and are finding it hard to split the two sides.

At the time of writing, betting on a win for Hampshire will return even money with Tote Sport, Boyle Sports and William Hill while a gamble on the win for Somerset is priced at 11/10 with most outlets.

It really could go either way which is a statement of little help when you’re looking for betting tips but if it helps at all, the toss could decide the fate of this game. We shall be waiting to see who calls correctly and then have a look for some betting in play options.

Throughout this tournament, we’ve enjoyed betting on the highest run scorer in each of our featured matches and after Joss Buttler brought us a tidy win against Gloucester last night, we’re going to stick with the talented keeper/batsman who is priced at 7/1 with Sporting Bet, Bet Fred and Bet 365. Meanwhile, Neil McKenzie looks a good option to lead the Hampshire run stakes and a bet on the high scoring South African is currently available at 5/1 with Bet 365.

As for the winner – well, we favour Somerset but only just. Above all, let’s hope for a good day that the weather won’t spoil and some great cricket.
